Originally intended for international racing in the 18 ft. class at annual Pacific International Yachting Association regattas. Horace Stone's Adanac was the original winner in 1908.
No further contests held in this class.
Awarded as Star Championship in 1923 to Harry Wylie's Astrea.
Re-designated for Roedde Class White Rocks Race in 1937.
Re-designated for B Class English Bay Regatta 1958.
Re-designated for C Class English Bay Regatta 1966
Re-designated I. 0. R. III Invitational Regatta 1972.
Re-designated P.H.R.F. 'C' Invitational Regatta 1975.
Re-designated J-24 - 1st Overall Wednesday Evening Series
Re-designated to Waves Regatta Outstanding Sportsmanship in 2026
The RVYC Waves Regatta Outstanding Sportsmanship Award recognizes a sailor or athlete who exemplifies the true spirit of sailing through integrity, respect, humility, and leadership both on and off the water.

NOMINATION DUE DATE
Nominations can come from sailors, coaches, race committee, volunteers or parents. All completed nominations must be submitted by 3:00 PM on the final day of racing.
